Kubernetes: Creating Pod and Service for Database

Problem Statement:

• Write a YAML file to create a Pod for a database (e.g., PostgreSQL) with appropriate environment variables for configuration.
• Write another YAML file to create a Service that exposes the database Pod.
• Apply the YAML files and verify the database is running and accessible via the Service.

Lab Objective:

Upon completion of this lab, you will be able to:

• Create and configure a database Pod using a YAML file, including setting up environment variables for databases like PostgreSQL.
• Set up a Service using a YAML file to expose the database Pod for network access.
• Deploy the YAML configurations and confirm that the database is running and accessible through the created Service.

You should install the following software on your machine:
